In this unit of Film & Media at the Brooklyn STEAM Center, our scholars asked themselves the question:
“how do we take the image in our heads and bring it to life?”
To answer this question, the students conducted a series of tests to master the manual functions of the DSLR camera, three-point lighting using LED and tungsten light sources, and photo editing in Adobe Photoshop. They combined this technical knowledge as they explored aesthetic concepts such as mise-en-scene, perspective, color, and composition.
